Volunteers & Interns

Volunteering at KOSC is an enriching way to make a difference and get involved in your community. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, and provide ongoing training and support. Whether you are a teenager interested in learning about science or an adult looking for a new avenue to give back to society we have a program for you!

We know there are many people in the Southern Tier willing to share their time, talent, and energy with the KOSC, either on a one-time or ongoing basis.  We hope to match volunteers’ interests and skills with a wide range of opportunities at Kopernik.  Some of these opportunities include:

Docents – greet the public during events and programs, give tours of the facility, answer questions about KOSC.

Event Aids – help the Education and Administration staff prepare for and put on events and programs.

Landscape / Gardening Enthusiasts – help make the surrounding landscaping inviting and functional for our guests.

Technology / Trade Professionals – assist with a variety of technical projects ranging from repairing lab equipment to installing satellite dishes.

Office Assistants – help with mailings, make phone calls for Membership Drives, prepare material for our summer programs.

Interior designers / Artists – help redesign our lobby area, develop a rotating display of various artwork and exhibits at KOSC.

These are just a few of the ways in which to help Kopernik.  Your time and talent will go a long way toward helping us serve the children who walk through our doors and want to learn about the world around us.

If you you want to volunteer, please fill out this volunteer application it will just take a few minutes.
