Brain Day 2025 & Summer Camp Open House

On Saturday, March 29, from 1 pm to 4 pm, Kopernik is teaming up with Binghamton University to host a special Brain Day event. You can come up with your child or grandchild to engage in a number of brain-related activities and they can learn more about the most complex part of the human body which happens to be located between the ears. There will be six different activities:

WHOSE BRAIN IS IT ANYWAY?

   Take a sneak peek at various animal brains and learn about how our brain is protected!

MAKE A NEURON

   Neurons are cells in the brain. Make neurons using beads, strings, and pipe cleaners.

HOW DO NEURONS TALK TO EACH OTHER?

   Play a neuron relay race and learn about communication between neurons.

ASK SCIENTISTS

   Have questions about how we think, feel, and learn? This is your time to ask!!

HOW DO WE HEAR THE SOUNDS?

   Hear auditory illusions and learn how sound travels.

YOUR BRAIN AT WORK!

   Watch your own brain activity with a portable EEG machine
