Kopernik Friday Night: Astronomy, Mythology and the Keeping of Time

The keeping of time has its roots in both astronomy and mythology. Join Peter Klimas as he discusses ancient myths about the Aesir, the Gods of the Norse, including Odin, Loki and Thor. Learn how these stories are connected to the sky and learn the origins of the times we call the year, month, week, day, hour, minute and second.

Doors open at 7:30 PM and the program will begin at 8:00. After the program, if skies permit, you are invited to view the night sky through Kopernik’s telescopes. View, Venus, Saturn, Jupiter and numerous deep sky objects.
