Comets & Meteors – Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS & The Orionid Meteor Shower
October 18, Doors Open at 7:30PM

Comets—meteors—both of these cosmic travelers can dazzle our skies, but what are they? It turns out, this month offers a chance to compare them. While dimming each passing day, Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS climbs higher in the early evening sky as it begins its exit from the inner Solar System. As October 21–22 approaches, the Orionid meteor shower peaks. Learn about these two astronomical events, how they differ, and how to observe them. Go hands-on with a real meteorite and see a comet made right in front of your eyes! Be sure to arrive early (before 8pm) for a chance to observe Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS through our telescopes.

The program will be livestreamed on the Kopernik YouTube channel.
