Supernova 1999dn is a BAO Supernova Survey discovery. There is some controversy as to the type of this supernova. It was originally reported as a Type Ic, like SN 1997X, but the consensus now is Type Ib/c. It peaked around August 20, 1999. The Kopernik images were taken on September 19th, 1999, around 6:15 UT.

Arp 284 is a pair of interacting galaxies with about the same red shift that gives a distance estimate of 141 million light years (Hubble Constant of 62 Km/sec per Mpc).

NGC 7714 appears to be a highly distorted Spiral Galaxy. This galaxy is an archetype of the starburst nucleus galaxies (Weedman et al. 1981). Interaction with the companion galaxy is thought to cause the burst of star formation in NGC 7714's nucleus. NGC 7715, the companion, is of uncertain type. It is probably an edge-on Spiral Galaxy, or possibly an Irregular Galaxy, similar to the Milky Way's Megellanic Clouds.
