CCD image taken with an SBIG ST-9E/AO-7 CCD camera thru Kopernik's
20 inch F/8.1 telescope. The exposure was 10 minutes, and the image scale
is 8 x 8 arc minutes, with North at the top.
"Pretty faint, pretty large, diffused, irregularly round, very little brighter middle."
"Irregular Disk with traces of ring structure."
This Planetary Nebula is located in the Constellation of Cygnus. F. Sabbadin estimated the distance of NGC 7048 to be 6,200 light years (1986, A&AS 64, 579). There are slight errors in the cataloged position. The coordinates shown below were measured from the Kopernik image.
