Open Star Cluster NGC 6802 in Vulpecula

An LRGB color exposure (17:4:4:4 minutes) with an ST-9E CCD camera thru Kopernik's 20-inch F/8.1 Ritchey Chretien Cassegrain telescope. The field of view is about 9x9 arc minutes, with North at the top. This image was taken under a full moon.

The image below is a 10 minute black & white exposure taken under dark sky.

Dreyer's description of NGC 6939 in his New General Catalog (NGC):

"Cluster, large, very compressed, extended 0°, stars of magnitude 14 to 18."

Quote from: The Deep Sky Field Guide to Uranometria 2000:

"50 stars. Moderately rich in stars; small brightness range; strong central concentration; detached."

Quote from C. Luginbuhl & B. Skiff's: Observing Handbook & Catalog of Deep-Sky Objects:

"At 50 power in a 6-inch scope it is oval, elongated North-South and only a few stars are resolved...... at 200 power a 12.5 inch scope will show about 15 stars in a 3'x2' arc minute area with a faint background haze."
