CCD Image of Supernova 1997cn in Elliptical Galaxy NGC 5490 taken on 5/28/97 at 4:25 UT. It is a 6 Minute exposure using an SBIG ST-6 thru Kopernik's 20 inch F/8.1 telescope. North at top; field: about 5x7 arc minutes.
Two other galaxies in the image are identified in our more detailed picture (click here).
They are 15.6 magnitude spiral galaxy MCG 3-36-67, and 16.4 magnitude galaxy MCG 3-36-64.
